  |دلالة=هي مجموعة من السلوكيات، والصفات، و[[أدوار النوع الاجتماعي|الأدوار المجتمعية]] المرتبطة عادة بالنساء والفتيات، ترتبط معايير الأنوثة بالإناث التي يتم تحديد [[جنس بيولوجي|جنسهن البيولوجي]] عند الولادة. تختلف صفات الأنوثة من كل مجتمع ومن كل سياق تاريخي لآخر. يستخدم هذا المصطلح لوصف النساء والفتيات اللاتي يمتثلون بقواعد المجتمع المحيط وما يفرضه من أدوار مجتمعية لكلا من النوعين، ولكن هذا لا ينفي أن كلا الإناث والذكور يستطيعوا أن يظهروا سمات الأنوثة. تضمن صفات الأنوثة المقبولة اجتماعيا الرقة، والتعاطف، والحساسية والأمومة.
