حضرت عضوات من المجموعة النسوية «ثورة البنات» اجتماع لجنة قضايا المرأة بحزب «العيش والحرية»، الاثنين ٥ فبراير ٢٠١٨. استهداف الاجتماع نقاش مفتوح حول واقعة ادعاء إحدى العاملات السابقات بـ «المركز المصري للحقوق الاجتماعية والاقتصادية» أن أحد زملائها مارس معها علاقة جنسية غير رضائية، "اغتصاب" أثناء غيابها عن الوعي، في حين طلب آخر ممارسة الجنس معها مستغلًا كونه في موقع اجتماعي أعلى بحكم نشاطه في المجال العام، منذ ما يقرب من أربع سنوات.
وقامت الأخيرة بإرسال رسالة إلكترونية "إيميل"، إلى إحدى صديقاتها وطلبت منها تمريرها لتحذير نساء أخريات قد يختبرن نفس التجربتين. كما أوضحت أن الرسالة هي خطوة على طريق التعافي، وأنها الآن خارج مصر.
جدير بالذكر أن المتورطين في الواقعتين هما أعضاء في حزب «العيش والحرية»، إلى جانب عملهما كمحاميان حقوقيان.
أفادنا الحزب بأنه تم تجميد عضوية المدعى عليه الأول بالاعتداء الجنسي، بينما الأخير والذي كان مرشح الحزب للانتخابات الرئاسية ٢٠١٨، ويشغل مركز وكيل مؤسسي الحزب حاليًا، لم يتخذ ضده أي إجراء إلا تحقيق فيما نُسب إليه. ورغم أن قيادات الحزب قد بلغهم أمر الرسالة في نوفمبر الماضي، إلا أنه تم استكمال الحملة رغم وجود شبهة استغلال سلطة أدبية تجاه المرشح.
يتم تداول الرسالة على مدار شهور، إلى أن وصلت لإحدى عضواتنا، والتي قررت بدورها تمريرها لنساء أخريات. وعلى خلفية هذا التمرير، غضبت كثير من النساء الناشطات بالمجال العام، والعاملات السابقات والحاليات بمنظمات حقوقية، وتم اتهام حزب العيش والحرية «العيش والحرية» بالتواطؤ، وتنحية قضايا العنف الجنسي لصالح الانتخابات الرئاسية.
وقد لبينا دعوة لجنة قضايا المرأة بالحزب، لنقاش موقف الحزب من الجدل المُثار، وتم اخبارنا أن توصياتنا سيتم عرضها على اجتماع اللجنة التحضيرية الذي قرر عقده الجمعة ٩ فبراير ٢٠١٨. فيما كانت توصياتنا ثلاث: -
- تجميد عضوية وكيل مؤسسي الحزب، كإجراء احترازي لحين الانتهاء من التحقيق.
- اصدار بيان للرأي العام لتوضيح موقف الحزب من تبني الحملة، وتخاذله في إجراءات التحقيق من نوفمبر حتى فبراير.
- إعلان تاريخ جاد ونهائي لانتهاء التحقيق وإعلان نتائجه للرأي العام.
إلا إن توصياتنا لم يتم وضعها في الاعتبار، ولم يُصدر أي بيان من الحزب حتى اليوم، السبت ١٠ فبراير ٢٠١٨. ولذلك، تُهيب مجموعتنا النسوية بحزب «العيش والحرية»، موقفه من قضايا النساء، وتُعيد كتابة توصياتها أمام الرأي العام، قبل خطوات التصعيد.
Members of our feminist group ‘The Girls’ Revolution’ attended a group discussion held by the Women Issues Committee at “Bread and Liberty Party”, Monday, 5th of February, 2018.
The meeting was intended to discuss allegations of sexual assault, and exploiting imbalanced power relations to ask for sex, claimed by a former female officer at Egyptian Center for Economic & Social Rights the Egyptian Center for Social and Economic Rights, against two male ex-colleagues. The two incidents are back in date to 2014.
The woman sent an email to one of her friends, asking her to pass it for women, to warn them. She clearly stated that this email is meant as a part of her recovery of the trauma, as she already left Egypt.
Worth of mentioning is that both men are recent members of the “Bread and Liberty Party, alongside with them being Human Rights Lawyers. While the membership of the first who is accused of rape is recently frozen, the second who is accused of utilizing his social status to ask for sex, was the party’s ex-potential candidate for presidency 2018. Although, the leaders at the party knew about the allegations in November, they continued the presidential campaign though, till late January.
The email is being circulated for months, until it reached one of our members who decided to pass it, as advised by the woman, to a larger group of women. Based on that, a wave of anger among feminists and women ex/workers at NGOs, is accusing the party of neglecting women’s allegations in favor of political purposes, represented in the campaign.
As we attended the meeting organized by the Women Issues Committee at the party, we were informed that our recommendations would be presented at the Organizing Committee’s meeting held on Friday, 9th, 2018. Our recommendations were as follows: 1. Membership of the ex-candidate to be frozen until the investigation ends. 2. A statement to the Public, urgently clarifying why the party adopted the campaign, and drooped the investigation from November to February. 3. Announcement of a serious and a final date to publicize investigation results.
However, our recommendations are apparently neglected, and the party has not responded publicly to any. Thus, our feminist group ‘The Girls’ Revolution’ condemns the recent situation of the “Bread and Liberty Party” on women’s causes. And, repeats its recommendations before the public, as a serious step of escalation.
